A USA Today infographic maps major oil transport routes across the Middle East, the Red Sea and surrounding waters. Turquoise lines trace shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Suez Canal toward Europe and Asia, while additional routes continue around Africa’s Cape of Good Hope. The map also marks Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline and Egypt’s SUMED pipeline.

Black dots identify maritime incidents, and annotations highlight reported attacks on two Saudi oil tankers on 22 July and the announcement of a Red Sea blockade on 20 July. Countries including Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Oman, Egypt, Israel and the United Arab Emirates are labelled for context.
