Usa Today – Heat Risk Across the U.S.

This heat risk map, published by USA Today, visualizes regions across the United States categorized by heat-related risk levels using data from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). The map uses three color codes:
Dark purple indicates areas of extreme heat risk
Red shows major heat risk
Orange highlights moderate heat risk
High-risk zones are most prominent in the Southeastern United States, with intense concentrations in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Cities like Atlanta, Memphis, Dallas, and Charlotte are located in or near major/extreme zones. Pockets of heat risk also extend into parts of the Midwest, including St. Louis and Des Moines, and reach into Colorado, Arizona, and California (especially near Los Angeles).
The map includes labels for several major U.S. cities for orientation.
