The way we create maps is changing. After years of innovation, feedback and iterations, Mapcreator Next is here to redefine your mapping experience. This isn’t just a redesign—it’s a step forward in speed, usability, and functionality. Let’s take a look at the new interface, explore its groundbreaking features, and how you can transition to the next version of our platform.
What is changing?
The next version of Mapcreator is designed from the ground up to address your needs and make mapping faster, smarter, and better organized. This new interface reflects our commitment to user experience: sleek, intuitive, and powerful, it enables both experienced mappers and newcomers to create stunning visuals in less time than ever before.
But this is just the beginning. We’ll continue to build, improve, and add more features leading up to the move-over in mid-2025.
Why the shift to our Next version?
We know change can be daunting. That’s why we’ve built a gradual transition plan so you can explore Mapcreator Next at your own pace. With faster performance, Mapcreator Next streamlines workflows for both simple maps and complex projects. Highly requested and long-awaited features like our new undo/redo functionality make editing stress-free, while folder management helps you stay organized and collaborate with your team effortlessly.
Additionally, Mapcreator Next simplifies layers (previously known as the elements list) into three clear categories: custom elements, overlays and base map. Within base map, the categories are divided as: labels, boundary, roads & rail, and landcover & water. Making it easier to find what you need without navigating through dozens of layers, with the search function still available when needed.
Star projects to make them stand out and use those as previously created map templates. Enhanced font label styling offers a wide range of customization options, and improved account settings give you full control over preferences like auto-save, notifications, and more—all from one central hub. And there is more to come!
When do I have to move?
The transition to the next version will happen gradually. Early bird access is open now, allowing you to explore the new platform at your own pace while the previous version of Mapcreator remains available. Our aim is that the next version of Mapcreator will fully replace the previous version mid-2025. This timeline gives you plenty of time to get familiar with the new interface, ensuring a smooth and stress-free transition as the current version of Mapcreator gets fully replaced.
