MapCreator is currently seeking an energetic and passionate Marketing/Graphic Designer intern to join our team. Located in central Eindhoven, MapCreator provides mapping services that make mapmaking easy, fast and accessible for every business and organization. Our flagship Maps4News is an online mapping platform used by journalists, news organizations and press agencies. A large number of news organizations around the world use our platform and we are growing fast.

The designer is responsible for producing and managing map and data projects for a range of different Maps4News users around the world. Other responsibilities are the creation of designs, ad layouts, and electronic artwork for output of digital and printed materials used in the MapCreator Advertising/Marketing programs as well as other forms of graphic communication.

Tasks:

• Understand the News Media community through intense research.
• Scrape data and compile data sets from scratch to tell clear visual maps stories.
• Use the Maps4News tool to create and present map/data projects to Maps4News users.
• Assist with graphic design needs for print and digital media.
• Assist with writing, editing and design of communication materials.
• Assist in creation of emails for marketing campaigns.
• Creating video content for a big range of campaigns.
• Create illustrations and other design art for social media, newsletters and web content.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

• Interest and motivation in the world of News Media, Maps, Infographics and News Design
• Proficient in the Adobe Suite of software, particularly Photoshop & Illustrator.
• Candidate must be creative and versatile.
• You are a student (Bachelor/Master level) or young professional in the field of visual journalism and/or graphic design
• Fluency in English
