South china morning post – Evolution map of the urban area of Beijing

This image is a map of the capital of China, Beijing. Various rings are placed on the map in coral, with numbers and a date attached to them. In the middle of all rings, a translucent shape marked the Urban area in 1949, with two markings stating the forbidden city and Tiananmen.

The ring after this area is marked as the 2nd ring 1960s-1992, followed by the 3rd ring 1994, the 4th ring 2001, the 5th ring 2003, and lastly the 6th ring 2009.

Other labels on the map include the Yangtaishan Natural Science Area and the Beijing Capital International Airport and two water labels for the Wenyui River and the Chaobai River.

On the bottom right, there is a scale bar marking 5 kilometers.
