Minneapolis Star Tribune – Island planned at Scherer Site

This image is split up in two maps, showing that in Minneapolis park officials want to create an island. The location of this island would be near where one was erased by adjoining businesses, at Scherer site.

On the left map, we can see where the planned private development on lead parkland would be, as well as the location of the planned park, the original island, the new proposed island, the proposed and existing shoreline. These are distinguished with different shades of gray, dotted lines or solid lines. Points of interest on this map include Boom Island Park, Mississippi River and Plymouth Avenue.

On the map on the right, we can see a more zoomed out view of the first map. It is shown that road numbers 94 and 394 run along this area. There are also street labels for Washington Avenue North, Hennepin Avenue and South 9th Street among others.

A north arrow and ½ mile scale bar can also be found.
