CNN – High tensions on Ukrainian and Russian border

This image is a map that highlights Ukraine, but also shows surrounding countries like Lithuania, Belarus, Russia, Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria.

The capital city Kyiv, is marked in Ukraine, as well as some other places like Lviv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Luhansk, Donetsk, Mariupol and Odessa. The surrounding Sea of Azov and the Black Sea are also marked.

Crimea and location Sevastopol are marked red, with the explanation that these were annexed by Russia in 2014.

The location on the right of Ukraine, including Luhansk and Donetsk, is also marked red. This area is Russian-backed separatists.
